ZEISS Lenses

ZEISS

Established in 1846 by Carl Zeiss, the German company has a long history in the advancements in camera, microscope and optical lens technology.

Zeiss leads the way in equipment designed to measure and monitor eye health and vision.

Zeiss prides themselves on the journey of the eye test, following through to the technology used to convert your prescription into the perfectly measured and dispensed lenses to suit your needs.

Zeiss i-Profiler – This one machine includes an ocular wavefront aberrometer, and auto-refractometer, an ATLAS corneal topographer and a keratometer. Together, these can provide us with a picture of your eye as unique as your fingerprint.

Zeiss offers infinite possibilities when it comes to lens choices, including design, materials and coatings.

Zeiss have created several varifocal designs, tailored to an individual’s day to day visual needs.

The SmartLife Superb is an easy wearing, general use varifocal, which is quick to adapt to, thus being well suited to the first time varifocal wearer.

The SmartLife Individual has the same benefits but is tailored not only to your prescription but takes into account frame fit and face dimensions.

Zeiss’s single vision SmartLife lenses incorporate the same precision technology for distance or reading use, with variations such as Drive Safe, Digital or Office (enhanced near vision) providing options to suit many lifestyles and professions. UV protection is standard in all Zeiss lenses. Coatings are available including tint, mirror and PhotoFusion colour changing lenses.

i-Scription is a system which applies the information found by the i-Profiler to create a lens for your prescription as unique to you as your fingerprint. It caters to any aberrations or other anomalies which may be present and impacting on your vision. Whereas your usual prescription will be measured in increments of 0.25 diopters the Zeiss i.profiler and i.Scription system can measure and create lenses in 0.01 diopters, thus a much more specific and accurate result in your final product.

i.Terminal is the final step in the Zeiss journey, where your chosen glasses frame will be placed on your face with a further large lightweight frame attached to the glasses. The iPad measures the parameters of the frame and the angles of the lens aperture in relation to your face. For example how close will your eye surface sit to the lens, or where your pupils are placed in relation to the lens? Other measurements such as pupillary distance, ocular height and pantoscopic tilt are also recorded. These measurements ensure the best design of lens for your chosen frames and your particular facial features.
