Established in Paris in 1944, the haute couture fashion house created a ‘new look’ which was considered a revolution. Ultra feminine fashion designs for women accentuated the female form and for that reason created tension amongst those of a feminist standpoint.

However, it is considered that as a fashion maison, Dior revived the French fashion industry.

Fierce rivalry between Dior and Chanel was widely documented and still exists today, but to a lesser extent. Nowadays, optical stores in France aren’t considered worth visiting if they don’t stock one of the two!

The luxury of the Dior brand emanates through the designs and materials used. They exude a bold opulence, with colours and shapes creating a bold statement of confidence and self certainty.

Frame shapes are categorised into rectangle, square effect and butterfly.

Ranges include Dior Signature, 30 Montaigne (the address of the Paris fashion house) , Black Suit (reference to the tailoring of fashion) and Dior Club.

Branding for each range is distinctive and varies from very subtle to unmistakably Dior!
