Tom Ford is a massive name in fashion design. He moved from Texas to New York at the age of 16/17 to study Art History, swiftly changing focus to Interior Architecture, with a short break as an intern for Chloe in Paris. Graduating with an Architecture degree, Ford maintained his passion for fashion and worked with Perry Ellis and Marc Jacobs before making his big move to Milan in 1990 to design for Gucci.

Despite some differences with Gucci’s design aesthetic, Ford became creative director for Gucci and is credited with saving the brand from near bankruptcy in his 15 years in Italy. His association with Gucci also put him in the creative directorship role for Saint Laurent, as they were led by the same owners.

Tom Ford has established his own name in the design of fashion, eye wear, accessories as well as developing his own fragrance and cosmetics lines. Ford’s fashion has been seen on all the biggest Hollywood names, from Beyonce to Jennifer Lopez and from Daniel Craig to Johnny Depp.

 

Ford has also dabbled in filmmaking with films including “A Single Man” and “Nocturnal Animals”.

Ford’s eye wear range is described as the epitome of modernity and glamour. Produced in Italy, the brand is famous for its customary T detail which is evident on the front of each pair.
