Ryan graduated from the University of Bradford in 2019 where he excelled within his cohort, achieving the highest grades and winning awards for his written assignments. Following graduation, Ryan went on to work in a large multiple chain of opticians in Liverpool and decided to make the change to independent practices in August 2023, where he enjoys being able to offer a more relaxed and personal service. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys visiting the Lake District and also socialising in his local area of Standish, where he was born and bred.
Liza is new to the world of optics and her introduction to the industry coincides with the launch of Standish Styling Opticians. Liza is learning the ropes from the expert team around her, and is applying her years of experience and love for creative arts to helping you choose frames which are perfect for you. Liza has worked for many years in high school as a teacher and subject leader, so she has plenty of patience!
Outside of work, Liza’s interests are cinema, theatre and dance. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Jackie started working at Hepworth and Hall in 1995 as an optical advisor, specialising in customer service and helping patients with frame styling. Jackie prides herself on offering the best professional care for all patients and has enjoyed working in a well-established local practice. Now, Jackie is excited to be a co-director of Standish Styling
Opticians, where she uses her extensive experience and sense of style, to dress the faces of Standish. Outside of work Jackie likes spending time with family and friends.
David started working at Hepworth and Hall in 2007 as a trainee dispensing optician and in 2010 completed his Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing at Bradford College. David is now a fully qualified dispensing optician with over 10 years experience working in practice.
David is kept busy as co-director of Standish Styling Opticians along with our sister practices Barnes Hazel Opticians, Hepworth and Hall Opticians and Alan Bowen Optometrists. Within this role, he liaises with luxury brand suppliers enabling us to offer our customers something really special.
David enjoys playing golf and is an active member at Pleasington Golf Club. He also loves to get involved with the local community sports teams.
Adrian started his career in optics for Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 1993. He qualified as a dispensing optician before also completing his Contact Lens Certificate some years later. Adrian is the co-director of Standish Styling Opticians and also our sister practices Barnes Hazel Opticians, Hepworth and Hall Opticians and Alan Bowen Optometrists. Adrian undertakes the day to day running of the practices, whilst dispensing quality spectacles. He also hosts specialist clinics for contact lenses, dry eye and has recently obtained his certification in colorimetry.
Outside of work Adrian enjoys supporting the town’s football and rugby teams and gets down to the stadium whenever he can.
Rachael completed her masters in science of Optometry at Manchester University. She currently works at Manchester Royal Eye hospital and also as a locum optician for us here at Standish Styling Opticians, as well as our sister practices Barnes Hazel Opticians, Hepworth and Hall Opticians and Alan Bowen Optometrists.
Outside of work Rachael is a keen runner and also enjoys baking.
Sue has been an optometrist for over 30 years and has enjoyed seeing the profession develop and grow. Standish Styling Opticians is another step in that journey and Sue is excited to be on board to provide optimum eye health care alongside the rest of the team. Sue has worked in various local practices and recently she has worked as a locum optician for our sister practices Hepworth and Hall Opticians and Alan Bowen Optometrists.
Sue’s full time job is her family, including the ever growing clan of grandchildren!
