Zeiss i.Profiler
This one machine includes an ocular wavefront aberrometer, and auto-refractometer, an ATLAS corneal topographer and a keratometer. Together, these can provide us with a picture of your eye as unique as your fingerprint. This can then be used with Zeiss i.Scription when choosing your lenses, to help with your particular individual needs.

Slit Lamp
Used alongside an ophthalmoscope, a slit lamp is a special microscope which allows the practitioner to see your eyes in 3D. We can then see both inside and out including the back of your eye.
Other parts of the eye can be examined such as the surrounding skin, lids and lashes, the eye’s surface, sclera, cornea, iris and lens. The eye test can also look at the retina and the optic nerve to help to detect glaucoma or the effects of diabetes on your eyes.
Visual Field Screener
This test can detect how wide of an area your eye can see when you focus on a central point. It will involve looking closely at a screen and responding to signals from within a range of your peripheral vision. This can indicate eye issues caused by wider health problems.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT Scan)
This part of the eye test allows early diagnosis of eye problems before they start to affect your vision by taking a 3D image of your eye. You will sit in front of the OCT machine and rest your head on a support to keep it motionless. The equipment will then scan your eye without touching it. Scanning takes about 5 minutes.
Opticians often charge an additional price for this scan. However it will be included in every Standish Styling Opticians eye examination as standard, at no extra charge.
